To Our BrickSeek Community:

As many of you have noticed, we have had some issues with the Target and Lowe’s inventory checkers over the past week. I’d like to provide a status update on this issue, as well as some explanation of the situation.

First of all, I want to apologize for the delay in providing a more formal update. Most times, any degradation in retailer services is resolved quickly, and as such, we haven’t been accustomed to posting official updates when we experienced third party service interruptions. Initially, we expected a fix was right around the corner, and therefore we didn’t provide an immediate official update. I apologize for this delay in relaying information to you.

We realize parts of the in-store shopping experience with BrickSeek are being hampered by shifts in the retail shopping world. As retailers focus more on using their stores as pickup and same-day delivery centers, the customer in-store experience has taken a backseat. We’ve seen this change coming for quite some time, and we have been working to adapt our offering to this retail evolution. I want to assure you that we are putting our entire effort into making sure that BrickSeek continues to be the best way to save money on the internet.

We have multiple new offerings in the pipeline, including a newly designed mobile app featuring custom push notifications; some new twists on local deals; increased visibility to open box deals; and even more new retailers.

Our relationships do vary between retailers — some we talk to regularly, while others are more sporadic. All of the retailers we talk to see the value of BrickSeek and our community. Most retailers are currently very focused on online and in-store pickup/ delivery objectives. When part of their internal inventory system changes and affects our offerings, it takes great effort to shift the focus to have adjustments made for us.

We are working diligently to address recent site issues. Here are some specific updates:

Target:

Many Target items are no longer displaying discounted clearance prices. For the time being, we believe this to be the new norm for Target. We are still evaluating how to best integrate and promote Target moving forward.

Lowe’s:

Lowe’s inventory searches are not currently operable. We have been in regular communication with Lowe’s and we are working together to bring our services back to normal. In addition, we are working to provide additional savings opportunities through Lowe’s online offerings.

In the meantime, we are working on numerous new and exciting developments, which will help us adapt to the changing ways of retail. Next week, we will provide additional details about these new features, as well as an update on the current situation with the Target and Lowe’s inventory checkers.

We thank you for your continued support and patience. We value each and every BrickSeek member!
